A big hello from the Valley View Caravan and Camping Site!

Hi from John and welcome to Valley View Caravan and Camping site
My name’s John, and welcome to my half acre camping site I call home! We are certified members of the national Camping and Caravan Club and we have 5 grassy pitches for caravans or motorhomes, and up to 10 pitches for trailer-tents or tents.  We hope you can come along and see our spectacular views and experience our real, home grown, Yorkshire hospitality.

Our secluded caravan and camping site may be basic and off the beaten track! But we are very accessible for local amenities, including popular wine bars, restaurants and pubs.
We are situated less than 1 mile from junction 23 of the M62 and 3 miles from Huddersfield town centre. Its location makes it an ideal gateway for exploring picturesque West Yorkshire.

Facing west the Valley View Caravan and Camping site has the most spectacular views over the Colne Valley and beyond. To the south is Huddersfield’s famous landmark, Castle Hill and the famous Emley Moor television mast.  Anyway, enough of this splendid view! I’m off to finish cutting the grass…

The blue chemical waste water is situated next to the entrance to the site. Also, there is the usual clean water hose for rinsing out your toilet cassette. Please note this water is only to be only used for cleaning out toilet units, pretty simple really.

For the brave gentlemen, we have a very rare, 4-way design, of al fresco urinal. It’s a Belgium style with the French name, pissoir. We don’t believe there are many like it in this country, so come along and have a wee look.

Things to see and do locally

Whilst you are visiting Huddersfield, it would be a shame if you didn’t see some of the local sights.

A few words from our very first, happy campers

WOW!!

We had to travel to West Yorkshire for a family emergency, and this was the only site we could find that was relatively near to our family. We had the absolute privilege of being the first people to stay here. The site was grass, probably an old building site, but it was clean and clear. The facilities are ....erm....quite primitive if I am totally honest, but all were clean and well set out. After tea, we sat in the front of the van and did our usual - played Scrabble. As night fell, we were pop-eyed at the view. It seemed that the whole of West Yorkshire was in front of us, in twinkly lights, with headlights picking up the accents. We sat for ages playing "guess what they are doing" and just soaked in the view! In the morning, we really looked, and there are views to Embley Moor, and "over the hills and far away"! The owner was charm itself, and came to see if everything was OK for us, and we had quite a long chat. Nearby are a lot of shops, and a fish & chip shop that does EXCELLENT fish and chips for under a fiver! All in all, THIS is a site I can heartily recommend. I know that we will be going back - for that view if nothing else!
